Hyderabad: Government Whip Balka Suman fired salvos at the Opposition parties for treating Dalits as mere vote-banks. He terming BJP as an anti-Dalit party and accused Congress for not giving due respect to Dr BR Amedkar. He stated that the State presidents of both the parties were not inclined to at least acknowledge the novel initiative of Dalit Empowerment scheme by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and instead were criticise the latter.

Speaking to mediapersons at the TRS Legislative Party office here on Monday, Suman slammed the newly appointed TPCC president and MP A Revanth Reddy for making senseless remarks against the Dalit Empowerment scheme. Pointing out that soon after his elevation, infights have commenced within the Congress party which will meet the fate of the TDP in Telangana and fade into the annals of Telangana’s history soon.

“Congress has no right to speak about Dalit empowerment as they failed to give the due recognition to Dr BR Ambedkar and did not confer Bharat Ratna to him during their regime,” he said.

He termed BJP as an anti-Dalit party that is unable to digest the empowerment and development of Dalits in the State. He alleged that the BJP government had stopped Rajiv Fellowship to the research scholars provided by the previous governments and preventing them from continuing their research work.

Suman said the Chief Minister’s Dalit empowerment scheme will soon become an ideal scheme for other States to emulate on the lines of Rythu Bandhu. He stated that the entire Dalit community was supporting the Chief Minister’s decision to provide Rs 10 lakh per each Dalit family as a unit. He said the scheme will be implemented strictly as per the decisions taken by the all-party meeting. Further, a separate action plan is being formulated to prevent attacks on Dalits. He stated that no other Chief Ministers in the past strove for upliftment of Dalits as much as Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao.

Government Whip Guvvala Balaraju said Chandrashekhar Rao was a visionary who had implemented several schemes in Siddipet constituency as MLA and was now upgrading it for the entire State as its Chief Minister. MP Pasunuri Dayakar Rao said Chandrashekhar Rao was the only Chief Minister striving for the Dalit empowerment with commitment and his schemes will be soon replicated in other States. MLAs Kranthi Kiran and Nomula Bhagath, MLC Rajeshwar Rao and others also spoke.
