Hyderabad: The Osmania University (OU) administration and UK government officials deliberated on initiating cooperation, including partnerships for student and faculty exchange, participation in UK-India education initiatives.
The university, which hosted British Deputy High Commissioner to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Gareth Wynn Owen and British Deputy High Commission Senior Trade Advisor – Technology & Education here on Tuesday, identified specific departments for pilot academic partnerships. Officials also discussed research in emerging areas.
OU Vice Chancellor Prof Kumar Molugaram said collaborations with UK universities will help the OU integrate best practices, promote joint research, and provide international exposure to varsity faculty members, students and scholars.
Wynn Owen said the UK is keen to support collaborative efforts in education, especially in areas like artificial intelligence, life sciences, sustainability, and student mobility. Highlighting the scope for partnerships, Awasthi noted that the British education ecosystem is open and eager to work with Indian institutions.
