PJTAU hosts 21-day training programme for faculty members
About 68 per cent of farmers in Telangana are small and marginal farmers, who are more prone to nutritional deficiencies, and there's a need for counselling to address these issues

Hyderabad: Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) organised a 21-day training programme for faculty members of various agricultural and horticultural, veterinary universities across the country.
Speaking at the valedictory, PJTAU Registrar Dr Vidyasagar emphasised the importance of nutrition in maintaining physical and mental health and noted that excessive use of pesticides has contaminated even vegetables, leading to various health problems.
Dr T Sasikala, Director, Planning and Monitoring Cell, PJTAU, pointed out that about 68 per cent of farmers in Telangana are small and marginal farmers, who are more prone to nutritional deficiencies. She emphasised the need for counselling to address these issues.
The training programme was organised by the Centre for Advanced Faculty Training (CAFT) in Community Science, Postgraduate Research Centre, PJTAU. It was attended by Dean of Community Science Dr Vijayalakshmi, CAFT Director Dr T Supraja, course coordinator Dr Sreedevi, and other faculty members Dr Janaki sreenath, Dr Swaroopa Rani.
