Hyderabad: The Congress Government’s betrayal of farmers in extending assistance under the Rythu Bharosa scheme has now reached New Delhi.

Exposing the Congress government’s failure in fulfilling its promise of extending financial assistance of Rs.15000 per acre under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, posters have surfaced at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) office in the national capital.

The posters that have been fixed at different places, including at the entry to the AICC office read: “Congress Rythu Bharosa U-Turn. Warangal Declaration Rahul Gandhi Rs.15,000 per acre. 2024 release to farmers Zero. CM Revanth- U turn Rs.12000 per acre…”

Before the Assembly elections in Telangana, the Congress had promised to increase the financial assistance under Rythu Bharosa scheme from Rs.10,000 per acre to Rs.15,000 per acre. The same was announced during the party’s Warangal Declaration programme.

However, even after one year passed since the Congress government came to power in the State, it did not implement the Rythu Bharosa scheme. Furthermore, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that under the scheme, the financial assistance would be only Rs.12,000 per acre from January 26.

Demanding the government to pay Rs.15,000 per acre, Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders and farmers had staged protests across the State on Monday and are continuing the same at Nalgonda on Tuesday as well.
