Mahabubnagar: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday accused opposition parties of obstructing the development of the Palamuru region by filing cases against irrigation projects in the National Green Tribunal and courts.
Speaking at the furnace lighting ceremony of SGD-Corning Technologies at Vemula in Mahabubnagar district, the Chief Minister cautioned farmers that obstruction to projects like Udandapur amounted to writing a death warrant for themselves. He directed officials to engage with farmers, ensure fair compensation for land acquisition and remove hurdles to project execution.
Revanth Reddy asserted that irrigation and education would transform Palamuru’s future. He promised funds through the green channel to complete pending works of Palamuru-Rangareddy, Jurala and Nettempadu projects that have remained unfinished for decades. He said apart from establishing new institutions including engineering, law, degree colleges, and a triple IT campus in erstwhile Mahabubnagar district, the government was now building 14 Young India Integrated Residential Schools with Rs. 2,800 crore.
On MLC Kavitha‘s suspension from the BRS and her subsequent allegations, the Chief Minister claimed that he was being blamed unnecessarily over an internal family dispute. He distanced himself from the issue, stating that the family members were fighting each other over familial issues and that he had no role to intervene in the matter. “People have rejected them. The party too will vanish soon without a trace,” he claimed.
