Hyderabad: The payment of salaries to government employees through Integrated Financial Management Systems (IFMIS) has come as a bane for those government employees who had shifted from one government department to another in recent years. For instance, over 100 employees, who were working in tribal welfare residential educational institutions society (TWREIS), have not been receiving salaries for the last two months.
There were no signs of receiving their December month salary in the first week of January either. Since the government decided to pay salaries through IFMIS from October this year, they have not been receiving their salaries. When they contacted the head office, these employees were told that their previous department had also uploaded their credentials on IFMIS. Since there was no edit option available on the portal, their names could not be removed. As their credentials were already available on the portal under a different department, the TWREIS could not upload their details again.
The employees, who were not receiving salaries, told Telangana Today that nearly 1,000 employees of TWREIS did not get salaries in October. However, a majority of them were paid two months salary in November. While 100 employees did not get their two months salary, another 100 employees did not get their October month salary till now. Similar issues were reported in many departments across Telangana.
While some departments failed to upload the credentials of workers on the IFMIS portal in time, some departments uploaded incorrect information, including mistakes in Aadhaar card numbers, bank accounts and other details, denying salary payments. The employees said they were finding it difficult to mobilise funds to meet their monthly expenses. They urged the government to resolve the issue and pay the arrears by January 1.
