Sangareddy: The tragic story of Puja Paswan (23), whose husband and two other relatives remain untraceable after the explosion at Sigachi Chloro Chemicals, has moved many. Her husband, Naga Paswan (30), paternal uncle Dileep (50), and cousin Deepak (20), have not been found even 36 hours after the blast.
Another paternal uncle, Dablu (47), sustained serious injuries in the explosion and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. His condition is said to be critical. The family, originally from Sasaram in Bihar, had been working at the industry for nearly a decade.
Puja, who is eight months pregnant and the mother of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy, Vivek, rushed to the blast site along with neighbours and friends less than an hour after the explosion. Since then, she has been wandering near the site in tears, clutching her son, who played innocently beside her, unaware that his father is missing. Though officials had retrieved several bodies by Tuesday evening, Puja was unable to identify any as her missing relatives.
Officials have collected blood samples from Vivek in an attempt to help identify the body of Naga Paswan through DNA testing.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Puja appealed to the authorities to hand over the bodies of her husband and other relatives so that the family could perform their final rites.
