Hyderabad: United Way Hyderabad, Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), industry bodies and other CSR groups have joined hands to create a supplementary Covid Care facility in the city.
The 50-bedded facility, called Project Ashray, will provide intermediate Covid care to patients with moderate symptoms and has doctors, medical support and oxygen facilities. It is also equipped with an ambulance and a mobile ICU to handle any emergencies. Offering free Covid care, the facility is operational 24×7 with a team of doctors, nurses and volunteers drawn from Grace Cancer Foundation.
The team is now working towards increasing the capacity to 200 beds and also adding critical support like ventilators, a press release said.
Inaugurated by Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar on May 3, the initiative is being co-anchored by HYSEA, NASSCOM, TiE Hyderabad, T-SIG, AMCHAM and Grace Cancer Foundation. The funding for the 50 beds was provided by Real Page.
Krishna Yedula, Ramesh Kaza, Ramesh Loganathan, Bharani Aroll, Srikanth Srinivasan, Dr Chinna Babu, Viiveck Verma, Sandeep Sharma, Sriniwas and others from the industry bodies brought up this facility in a record time of five days, the press release said.
