Bengaluru: Srishti Kiran, a 13-year-old tennis prodigy from Karnataka, has made an impressive stride on the international junior circuit, advancing to the semifinals of the ITF J30 Cabarete in the Dominican Republic. The event, which concluded with the final on Saturday, witnessed Srishti showcasing maturity well beyond her years.
In the quarterfinals, Srishti registered a commanding 6-2, 6-4 victory over Dominican Republic’s Daniela Esther Castillo Macario. This came after her stunning upset of the second-seeded Arina Vansovich from Russia in the pre-quarterfinals. The tournament was held from October 20 to 25, 2025, and Srishti’s performance has further cemented her place among India’s brightest young tennis stars.
Srishti, who hones her skills at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), has rapidly become one of India’s most promising young players. She first rose to prominence after an unbeaten run for India in the ATF U-12 Girls’ Team Championship finals in August 2023.
On the domestic circuit, Srishti is currently ranked No. 21 in India’s U-14 girls’ category, showcasing her consistency and potential. Her performances reaffirm India’s reputation as a breeding ground for world-class tennis talent.
Srishti’s rise caught attention beyond Asia when she was invited to train at the RPS Academy in Florida under the mentorship of Gabe Jaramillo. She has also contributed significantly to India’s victory at the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) U-12 Girls’ Team Championship in 2023, remaining unbeaten throughout the competition.
Looking ahead, Srishti is focused on excelling in upcoming tournaments like the Junior Orange Bowl and IMG Academy International Tennis Championships in Florida later this year.
Earlier in July, Srishti was part of the Asian team for under-14 competitions, as part of the Grand Slam Player Development Programme (GSPDP) of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). During her time in Florida, she attended a three-day camp in Paris, participated in tournaments in France, and traveled to Germany and Belgium as part of the Asian team, guided by coaches from across the continent, including Czarina Arevalo of the Philippines, Matrin Setiawan of Indonesia, and Ranil Harshana of Sri Lanka.
With such a stellar start to her career, Srishti Kiran is undoubtedly a rising star in the world of tennis, and all eyes will be on her as she continues to break new ground on the international stage.
