An elephant named ‘Sreedevi’, brought from Kerala, will carry the historic Bibi-ka-Alam during Hyderabad’s Ashura procession. Preparations are underway across the city for Muharram observances, with authorities and organisers making arrangements for devotees and traditional ceremonies.

Scores of grieving members of the Shia community marched along the procession beating their chests to the chants of ‘Ya Hussain’ with several people lined up across the procession route.
