CBI spokesperson R.C. Joshi said that the agency has taken action on a complaint which alleged that the complainant was cheated of Rs 80 lakh by a person.
A CBI spokesperson in Delhi said that the agency is conducting searches at around 40 locations including at Jammu, Srinagar, Udhampur, Rajouri, Anantnag, Baramulla, Delhi at the official and residential premises.
The agency started a massive search operation at 42 locations in 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh, Alwar in Rajasthan and Kolkata in West Bengal on Monday.

The event unfolded on Thursday around 10 pm at Goregaon East in front of Dindoshi Fire Station where the CBI team had laid a trap after getting a complaint
It directed the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) director to complete the preliminary inquiry within 15 days and then take a decision on further course of action.
