Hyderabad-based breast cancer surgeon Dr. Raghu Ram Pillarisetti has been awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is the only surgeon globally to hold both FRCS (by examination) and Honorary FRCS from the same college.
This is the highest recognition that the ASA can bestow upon a surgical colleague from a foreign country and Dr Raghu Ram is the third surgeon from South Asia to receive this high honour in the 144 years history of America’s oldest and most prestigious Surgical Organisation.
The appointment is in recognition of his established academic track record contribution to help budding surgeons from the Indian subcontinent over the past two decades.
