President Murmu, speaking at the joint session of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the new Parliament building, highlighted that the past year marked historic achievements for the country.

The final session before the Lok Sabha polls, anticipated to take place in April-May this year, will consist of eight sittings distributed across a span of 10 days.

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu has nominated Chandigarh University founder-chancellor Satnam Singh Singh Sandhu to Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.    

Various subjects like music, culture, solar power, sports like badminton, chess, among others were discussed.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened at various places in the wake of the New Year.

The President said that the country has to ensure that every citizen of the country is economically and socially empowered.

The 12-year-old student from HPS, Akarshana Sathish, has set up a total of eight libraries since 2021 including six in Hyderabad, one in Siddipet, and two in Tamil Nadu.

The President arrived in Hyderabad on December 18 as part of the annual southern sojourn and stayed at the Rashtrapathi Nilayam located in Bollarum in Secunderabad.

The traffic police asked the citizens to take note of the programme and plan their movements accordingly.

The Rashtrapati Nilayam remains open to the public throughout the year, except during the President's southern sojourn.

The President visits the Rashtrapati Nilayam and stays there at least once a year and conducts official business from the Nilayam.
