The Sangareddy police arrested one person who was allegedly selling ganja and ganja chocolates to industrial workers at Malkapur village of Hathnoora mandal on Wednesday evening.
The Khammam Commissionerate Police intensified efforts to combat the growing ganja menace in urban areas, resulting in the apprehension of three individuals, including a minor, within Khammam city on Saturday.
The accused Sundar Ram, the truck owner cum driver and the lorry cleaner Suresh of Alai village in Nagaur tehsil of Nagaur district in Rajasthan procured ganja in Chintoor forests in AP.
The apprehended suspects were identified as Majjiga Sai and Singireddi Rahul. Both individuals were allegedly involved in the distribution and usage of ganja for a year.
Kodad rural police on Monday arrested three persons, including two women, and seized 50 kg of ganja worth Rs.12.5 lakh during a vehicle check at the inter-state border check-post at Ramapuram in the district.
On being interrogated, the four confessed to smuggling to earn money and that they procured the ganja in Odisha to sell it to youngsters of Adilabad town.
The police said that the arrested gang members bought the ganja from the border of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and were transporting it to Maharashtra by placing the ganja packets (150) like shells on the roof of the vehicle
