His innovation, the Novatex Electrical Cylinder, simplifies the process of weaving designs on saris and dhotis, eliminating dependency on thousands of punch cards, which need reconfiguration for every new design.

The campaign is gaining traction from various quarters, with many sending post cards with the same demand to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Appealing to weavers in the State as well to write postcards to the PM highlighting the issue, the Minister asked everyone fond of handloom products to join the campaign.

Expressing concern over imposition of GST on handloom garments, he said it was not the right move in the context of making garments.
