Residents of Battupalli village in Asifabad staged a sit-in with empty vessels, protesting the persistent drinking water shortage. Despite multiple complaints and leadership changes, the issue remains unresolved, with Mission Bhagiratha supply proving inadequate for daily needs.
In a statement, the police stated that the curfew had been enforced in villages 1, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10 in Easgaon Gram Panchayat, along with Seethanagar, Anukoda, Gannaram, Kadamba, Areguda, and Babanagar villages in Kagaznagar mandal. This measure was taken to prevent residents from entering the forests and agricultural fields due to the reported movement of a tiger in the area.
Kagaznagar Rural Inspector Srinivas and Sub-Inspector Mahender confirmed that Saraswathi Sarkar, a resident of village number 2 in Easgaon, was arrested for the murder of her 44-year-old husband, Dilal Sarkar.
