The Chief Minister took a decision to this effect and directed the officials to initiate necessary measures to cater to the future needs of these peripheral areas.

“Since cotton produced in the State is of high quality with high yield besides commanding a higher price as well, farmers should be ready to grow cotton in 75 to 80 lakh acre during the monsoon season,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister said the State government was taking several measures for the past six and half years which brought in a qualitative change in the water resources management.

Making the announcement in the course of budget presentation for 2021-22 in the State Assembly here, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said the Chief Minister conceived the new scheme for the all round development of Scheduled Castes in the State.
