Thousands of people have begun arriving at Hyderabad's Exhibition Grounds ahead of the annual fish prasadam distribution organised by the Bathini family. Authorities, TGSRTC, NGOs and the Fisheries Department have made extensive arrangements for the 24-hour event beginning on June 8.

The annual fish prasadam distribution by the Bathini family will be held at Hyderabad’s Exhibition Grounds on June 8 during Mrigasira Karthi. Lakhs of asthma patients are expected to attend the event, for which over one lakh murrel fish have been arranged.

The Fisheries department has made arrangements to supply necessary fish to the Bathini family for distributing the medicine to asthma patients.

Bathini Goud family members said a sage shared the ingredients of the fish medicine with their elders about 190 years ago and since then they have been providing it free of charge to lakhs of patients with respiratory issues.
