Vigilance officials of the Civil Supplies department inspected rice mills in Jaipur and Chennur mandals after a Rs 1.39-crore paddy procurement scam surfaced in Jaipur. Records of paddy purchases and milling were verified, and one rice miller has already been arrested.

In Mancherial district, 25 rice millers have been identified for defaulting or diverting custom milled rice (CMR) from the Vanakalam and Yasangi seasons of 2022 to 2024, with an estimated value of Rs. 205.47 crore. Cases against nine millers have been registered under relevant laws, with penalties and interest imposed.
The SP addressed the farmers' concerns and assured them that any fraudulent activities related to paddy procurement would result in strict action against the offenders.
