The Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad will unveil zebras for the first time in 37 years during Zoo Day on October 6. The zoo plans a breeding programme and will soon add wallabies, mandrills, and Hoolock gibbons to its collection
The Hyderabad Zoo will soon house new attractions, including a Mandrill from Jamshedpur, Hoolock Gibbons from Nagaland, and Zebras from Gujarat, after more than 30 years. Officials say the animal exchanges are likely to be completed within three months.
These animals will be kept at the new 10-acres extension facility, adjacent to the existing zoo, and Request for Proposals for the project have been invited.
