Hyderabad: Telangana District Cricket Association (TDCA) President and former Sports Authority of Telangana Chairman Allipur Venkateswar Reddy has demanded a thorough investigation into the embezzlement of Rs 68.73 crore in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). He further stated that the funds should be withdrawn from Visakha Industries and spent on the development of rural cricket. Mr Reddy alleged that “the gang of thieves who looted Rs 68.73 crore by giving Rs 4 crore should be thrown out of the HCA.”
On Tuesday, during the HCA President’s meeting at Gymkhana Ground, TDCA members, under Mr Reddy’s leadership, staged a noisy demonstration seeking justice.
“We just want justice, not only to ensure that the HCA funds are not misused but also to provide a proper platform for the talent in the districts to showcase their skills,” Mr Reddy said.
Mr Reddy warned that if the HCA funds are not returned, agitation programs will be organised across the state under the auspices of TDCA.
