Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said appointment of Telanagana State Public Service Commission’s (TSPSC) Chairman and Members would be taken up without any political interference. The staff would also be appointed on permanent basis without any irregularities in the TSPSC, he said during a meeting with union Public Service Commission Manoj Soni at New Delhi on Friday.
The Chief Minister held a one and half hour meeting with the UPSC Chairman and Secretary Shashiranjan. He was accompanied by Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and other senior officials.
During the meeting, a host of issues were discussed relating to the UPSC functioning. Complimenting the State Government for its plans to revamp the TSPSC, the UPSC Chairman offered to train the TSPSC Chairman and Members, besides conducting awareness classes for the Secretariat staff.
The Chief Minister said that UPSC was functioning transparently without any scope for irregularities and complimented the officials. He also inquired about the practices adopted by the UPSC in working so efficiently for such a long period.
“The State Government intends to undertake two lakh job appointments by December 2024 and revamp the TSPSC. We want to follow new procedures and methods in the recruitment process in Telangana” Revanth Reddy said.
Responding to him, the UPSC Chairman said that there would be no political involvement in the appointment of members and selection will be based on merit.
The Chief Minister charged that the past government had politicized the appointment of TSPSC Members and turned it into a centre for political rehabilitation. As a result, issues like paper leaks, issuance of notifications, and conduct of examinations and publication of results were affected.
Telangana was achieved with the aim of water, funds and appointments but due to the carelessness and incompetence of the past government, there was extreme negligence in the recruitments and appointments, he said.
