Hyderabad: Former Minister V Srinivas Goud launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for belittling the contribution of government employees, teachers, and pensioners who were instrumental in the Telangana movement.
Speaking at the launch of the Telangana Employees Coordination Committee (TECC), Srinivas Goud warned that if the government continues to ignore employee grievances, they would campaign against it across the State. He questioned the Chief Minister’s failure to implement key promises like PRC, DA hikes, and clearance of pension arrears to over 10,000 retired employees.
The TECC comprises senior leaders, including former Council Chairman K Swamy Goud, ex-TNGO presidents Karam Ravinder Reddy and Devi Prasad, former MLC Pathuri Sudhakar Reddy, and C Vittal, among others. The committee said it would remain apolitical and work to safeguard employee rights.
Swamy Goud criticised Revanth Reddy’s attempts to paint employees as obstacles to governance and accused the government of spreading misinformation. Devi Prasad condemned the Chief Minister’s controversial remarks that linked employee salaries to welfare scheme cuts, calling it a blow to employee self-respect.
Leaders said the TECC would function like the historic Telangana JAC that fought for statehood and warned of State-wide protests if pending dues and benefits are not cleared. “We are not asking for favours, only our rightful dues,” he asserted.
