Telangana is situated on Deccan plateau in the peninsular part of India.

Telangana, as a geographical and political entity was born on June 2, 2014 as the 29th and the youngest state in Union of India. However, as an economic, social, cultural and historical entity it has a glorious history of at least two thousand five hundred years or more. Megalithic stone structures like cairns, cists, dolmens and menhirs found in several districts of Telangana show that there were human habitations in this part of the country thousands of years ago. - Telangana is situated on Deccan plateau in the peninsular part of India.
- This region has two main rivers Godavari and Krishna. 69 % of Krishna river and 79 % of Godavari’s catchment area is in Telangana region.
- The Godavari is considered as a sacred river in South India and is also called as Dakshin Ganga (Ganga of South).
- It is semi-arid area and climate is mainly hot and dry.
- The economy is mainly driven by agriculture. Rice is the major and staple food crop of the state.
- Ramagundam Power plant is the major Power station of the state operated by NTPC having installed capacity of 2600 MW.
- Warangal has a domestic airport which was established in the year 1930 during Nizam period.
- The culture of Telangana is blended of traditions of Mughals and Nizams of Hyderabad.

- Bhadrachalam Temple is a Lord Sree Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam, Bhadradri District. Bhadrachalam-The name derived from Bhadragiri (Mountain of Bhadra-a boon child of Meru and Menaka).
- Charminar- Charminar is a monument and a mosque, considered synonymous with the history of Hyderabad city. The majestic structure was completed in 1591 AD and it is believed that Mohammed QuliQutb Shahi, the fifth sultan of the Qutub Shahi dynasty had built the monument to commemorate the end of a deadly plague menace that had gripped the city then.
- Golkonda, also known as Golconda, Gol konda, or Golla konda, is a citadel and fort in Southern India and was the capital of the medieval sultanate of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, is situated 11 kilometres west of Hyderabad.
- Birla Mandir: This famous temple is built on a 280 feet (85 m) high hillock called Naubath Pahad on a 13 acres (53,000 m2) plot in Hyderabad.
- Basara: Gnana Saraswati Temple (Goddess of Knowledge) is located on the banks of the river Godavari in Adilabad District
- Mecca Masjid, is one of the oldest mosques in Hyderabad and it is one of the largest Mosques in India.
- Medak Cathedral located in Medak town is considered as the largest church in Telangana state, that falls under the Diocese of Medak of the Church of South India. Originally constructed by British Wesleyan Methodists, the church was consecrated in the year 1924.

Sammakka Saralamma Jatara or Medaram Jatara is a world renowned tribal festival. The Jatara is celebrated annually at Medaram in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
