Hyderabad: The Telangana Sate Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) has issued a closure order to Rudra Technologies (formerly Srinivasa Labs), Sangareddy district, for alleged illegal transportation and dumping of untreated effluents into Musi river.
According to the PCB, an illegal discharge of effluents through tanker into Musi near Bapughat bridge was caught by the residents of Langer Houz on November 26 and a complaint was made to Rajendra Nagar police station.
The TGPCB officials inspected the discharged area and observed that a sand and aggregate metal trading site was set up near the bridge along with a parking lot for lorries from which premises, a pipeline was arranged to the river. Observing that through that pipeline, effluents were being discharged, samples were collected from Musi, river bank and also from the tanker.
On verification of invoice details, the Board officials found the effluents were sent from Rudra Technologies to Raghavendra Chemical, Vikarabad district, which was issued closure orders in April 2023 for discharge of effluent in the forest area.
From surveillance camera footage, the PCB officials found that the tanker was coming from Rudra Technologies and served a closure order on Tuesday, a press release said.
