Hyderabad: The Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) on Tuesday urged the State government to protect budget private schools from harassment by some ‘bogus’ student organisations and unscrupulous individuals posing as activists.
Speaking at a press conference after the TRSMA State executive committee meeting, TRSMA president SN Reddy and general secretary Anil Kumar alleged that ‘bogus’ student groups and caste-based organisations were harassing budget private schools.
They said private school managements were struggling to cope with the ‘intimidation’ and ‘unlawful actions’ of certain individuals. They also claimed that some School Education department officials were backing such unauthorised groups.
The TRSMA alleged that some individuals resorted to physical attacks on schools and demanded that security be extended to schools on the lines of banks and hospitals.
“We recently met DGP CV Anand and submitted a representation on the issue, urging him to issue instructions to ensure prompt action,” they said.
The private schools decided to file police cases and pursue legal action against individuals who disrupt the academic environment in schools under the guise of running an organisation.
TRSMA associate president Rameshwar Reddy, vice president Hanumantha Reddy, treasurer K Srikanth Reddy, and members Rama Narsaiah, Anjaneyulu, Somashekhar and Shivakumar, among others, also participated in the meeting.
