Hyderabad: Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) along with Osmania and Kakatiya Universities will soon hold a virtual workshop with Bangor and Aberystwyth Universities, Wales, and British Council, UK, to exchange best practices with regard to internal quality assurance and auditing practices, and comparison of the curriculum in the BA and BCom programmes.
Officials of the TSCHE and British Council, UK here on Tuesday held a review meeting on the curriculum development for BA and BCom programmes. During the meeting, it was decided that the steering committee of the curriculum development project would take the final decision on the popular combination in BA and Commerce for consideration. The steering committee would identify the course champions for different subjects to review the existing curriculum and suggest suitable changes in the light of the international standards for enhancement of the skills /competency and employability.
British Council South India Director, Janaka Pushpanathan said, “I am delighted with the progress that both Telangana and Welsh partners have made in the last six months despite the pandemic to take Telangana state curriculum reform project forward. I look forward to seeing the implementation of a revised curriculum that would impact 800,000 students studying arts and commerce streams across Telangana”.
TSCHE Chairman, Prof R Limbadri said the new curriculum would be implemented in the state from the academic year 2023-24 as per the project plan. The TSCHE and steering committee would closely work with the Welsh partners for completion of the project as per the timeline set, he added.
The State government had signed a memorandum of understanding with the British Council South India to strengthen higher education and cultural cooperation during October 2018.
