Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) board has decided to resume the Arjita Sevas at the temple which were stopped about two years ago due to COVID-19.
However, they will cost more as the board meeting on Thursday resolved to increase the rates. During discussion on Suprabhatam, Thomala, Archana and Kalyanotsavam ticket rates, it was noted that the rates of these sevas were fixed a couple of decades ago and needed to be revised.
Later, informing the decisions of the meeting to media, TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy hoped that normal situation would be restored at Tirumala by this month end and an announcement would be made in a couple of days on the entry of devotees to Arjita Sevas programmes.
Prominent among other decisions of the TTD on the day were– construction of a children’s hospital at a cost of Rs.230 crore, modernisation of SVIMS hospital with Rs.2.73 crore, budget of Rs.25 crore for extending cashless medical services to TTD employees, setting up of a solar plant for preparing food at Annaprasadam building, and steps to provide Annaprasadam all over Tirumala hill.
The board also decided to set up a Spiritual City on 50 acres in Tirupati and also take back 50 acres of the land allotted to the Tirupati Science Centre.
