Two boys drown in tank in Nirmal
Sarangapur Sub-Inspector A Dayanand Rao said the deceased were identified as Aitla Nikhil (13), son of Narsaiah, and his cousin Nihar (10), son of Rajendra, both residents of Chincholi village.
Nirmal: In a tragic incident, two cousins aged under 14 accidentally drowned in an agriculture tank at Chincholi village in Sarangapur mandal on Wednesday.
Sarangapur Sub-Inspector A Dayanand Rao said the deceased were identified as Aitla Nikhil (13), son of Narsaiah, and his cousin Nihar (10), son of Rajendra, both residents of Chincholi village.
Nikhil and Nihar tried to swim in the tank at a deep spot for fun though they were not good at swimming, and drowned. A local, who was passing by the tank, noticed the boys drowning and brought them out. The boys, however, died by the time they were brought out of the water.
A pall of gloom descended on the village with the incident. While Nikhil lost his father in the past, Nihar’s father migrated to Dubai in search of livelihood.
Based on a complaint lodged by Laxmi, mother of Nikhil, a case was registered. Investigations are underway.
