Hyderabad: Homes are beginning to feel softer, calmer and far more personal. Harsh white lights and ultra-minimal spaces are slowly being replaced by warm lighting, textured décor and cozy corners designed for comfort rather than perfection.
From table lamps and candles to earthy tones, curved furniture and layered fabrics, people are leaning towards interiors that feel relaxed and lived in. The trend reflects a growing desire to create spaces that feel emotionally comforting, especially at a time when many people are spending more hours indoors for work and leisure.
Interior designer Rhea Malhotra says the shift is centred around creating warmth and ease within living spaces. “People are drawn towards interiors that feel welcoming and comforting rather than overly polished. Soft lighting instantly changes the mood of a room and makes it feel more relaxing after a long day,” she says.
Warm lighting has especially become central to this trend. Instead of bright white LEDs, many homeowners now prefer yellow-toned lamps, pendant lights and ambient lighting that instantly make a room feel cozy. Alongside this, textured cushions, rugs, wooden accents and vintage-inspired decor are also making a comeback.
Small details are also playing a big role in shaping these spaces. From scented candles and linen curtains to warm-toned wall art and indoor plants, people are paying more attention to elements that make a home feel calm and inviting rather than overly styled.
