Yashoda Hospitals organises ‘Bridge the Gaps 2.0-GI Disorders’ in Hyderabad
Over 500 physicians and surgeons from across the country attended the conference, which featured discussion on complete spectrum of liver diseases.

Hyderabad: Ailments related to gastrointestinal tract and liver are on the rise and are spreading like an epidemic in South India, gastroenterologists and liver specialists in a national conference ‘Bridge the Gaps 2.0-GI Disorders’ organised by department of Medical Gastroenterology, Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City on Sunday, said.
Ailments like viral hepatitis, fatty liver, liver fibrosis/ cirrhosis to liver cancers, are getting reported on a large scale.
“Liver-related deaths in India have reached a staggering figure of 2,68,580, which is 3.71 per cent of all deaths, per year contributing to 18.3 per cent of global 2 million liver-related deaths,” Director, Yashoda Hospitals, Dr Pavan Gorukanti said.

With liver diseases posing significant health burden, the conference addressed pressing health issues like acute gastrointestinal bleeding, perforated ulcers and bowel obstructions etc.

Somasekhar Rao, Dr Gopi Srikanth and Dr. Sharathchandra Gorantla of Yashoda Hospitals presented the latest clinical guidelines, case studies, and interactive discussions to enhance the knowledge and skills required for managing critical GI emergencies in real time.
