Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded action against Thungathurthy MLA Mandula Samuel for allegedly humiliating Hindu dharma and Brahmins, stating that the police should register a criminal case against the legislator for attempting to disturb communal harmony through provocative remarks.
Sanjay Kumar made these comments while launching his padayatra to the Kondagattu temple here on Saturday. He took out the yatra in the name of ‘Anjanna Aashirvada Yatra’.
Referring to the swearing-in ceremony of Manakondur MLA Dr Kavvampally Satyanarayana as TPCC SC Cell chairman at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Friday, he alleged that Samuel made objectionable remarks against Brahmins and Hindu dharma during the programme.
He also alleged that TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers and other Congress leaders present on the dais supported the comments by applauding. “First, the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy should apologise to the Hindu society and suspend the MLA from the party,” he said.
