Hyderabad: The family of a 69-year-old man from Kadapa district, who was declared brain dead, has donated his organs under Jeevandan organ donation initiative.

Chinnaramappa Gari Chenna Keshava Reddy was admitted to a hospital with complaints of severe headache, repeated vomiting, and sudden loss of speech on May 12. Subsequently, he became unconscious and was shifted to a local private hospital in Ananthapur and then to Hyderabad.

Despite intensive medical management and best efforts by the treating doctors, he was declared brain dead on May 20.

The son of deceased, Pavan Kumar Reddy, gave consent to donate liver and corneas and helped three patients in need. With this, Jeevandan Telangana has recorded 79 deceased organ donations in the year 2026 so far.
