Khammam: The municipal election campaign being carried out by senior BRS leaders in erstwhile Khammam district is eliciting an encouraging response from the people, party leaders said.
Former Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao, Wyra Municipality election in-charge and former minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Khammam district BRS party president MLC Tata Madhusudhan along with senior BRS and CPI (M) leaders conducted a road-show in Wyra town on Thursday.
A large number of leaders and activists of both the parties took part in the road-show making it into a success. The leaders toured various wards in the town conducting door-to-door campaigning and interacting with the people.
Addressing the voters, they appealed to them to elect BRS chairperson candidate Katta Swaroopa. The BRS leaders also distributed the ‘Congress Dues Card‘ to every household, highlighting the failures of the Congress government.
Nageswara Rao criticised the Congress government for completely failing to fulfill the promises made to the people during the previous Assembly elections. He reminded the people of the development and welfare programmes undertaken during the BRS government’s tenure and requested them to give BRS another opportunity.
Ajay Kumar cautioned BRS supporters about confusion tactics being used by opponents, specifically regarding symbols like the ‘Chapati roller’ which might mislead voters. He urged party workers to stay alert and educate voters regarding the BRS symbol.
Former MLA Banoth Chandravathi, CPM leader Veerabhadram, Rythu Sangham leader Bonthu Rambabu, former SUDA chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar, CPI (M) and CPI leaders were present.
In Kothagudem, BRS MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, former minister Vanama Venkateswara Rao, Vanama Raghavender Rao and others carried out road-shows in Paloncha and Kothagudem towns seeking victory for the party candidates.
They pointed out that the Congress party had lured the voters with false promises during the previous Assembly elections and was doing the same in municipal elections. In the past two and half years of Congress rule, development was stalled in all the urban local bodies in the district.
