Hyderabad: The BRS launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, charging him with misleading people on Davos investments and failing to fulfill Congress’s election promises. They termed the investment claims as a diversion tactic, ignoring public protests over unfulfilled schemes.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council S Madhusudana Chari pointed out that of the Rs.40,000 crore investments announced at Davos last year, less than Rs 10,000 crore has materialised. He cited Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s remarks that the Davos visit was only beneficial for networking.
“Revanth Reddy is making tall claims about investment as if he alone achieved it. He must not forget that the progressive policies of the previous BRS government laid path for Telangana’s development which in turn attracting investments. He is targeting former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and former IT Minister KT Rama Rao only out of frustration,” he said.
Madhusudana Chari took a dig at the Chief Minister, stating that Revanth Reddy lacks administrative experience and suffers from “Attention Deficit Syndrome,” citing his past gaffes.
He blamed Revanth Reddy for derailment of growth in Telangana and imposing a police rule by conducting official reviews from the Command Control Center instead of the spacious and state-of-the-art Dr BR Ambedkar State Secretariat.
Former MLA Dr Methuku Anand questioned Revanth Reddy’s decision to sign agreements with Megha Engineering, despite previously likening it to the East India Company.
He said the Congress government was resorting to corruption in housing schemes and ignoring infrastructure development. He warned of public protests against handing over Ananthagiri forests to Megha and demanded increased BC reservations before holding local body elections.
