Hyderabad: BRSV State president Gellu Srinivas Yadav on Monday accused the Congress and BJP of joining hands in Telangana, alleging that both parties were working in tandem to the detriment of the State.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Srinivas Yadav said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s excessive enthusiasm during Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s Hyderabad visit exposed the nexus between the two parties. He pointed out that BRSV leaders were arrested on two consecutive days, once during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit and again during the Chief Minister’s Education Week celebrations meeting at LB Stadium on Monday. He termed it deliberate political suppression.
He also demanded the immediate dismissal of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay from the Cabinet. He said both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister were shielding the Union Minister and his family despite a POCSO case being registered against his son. “The police did not respond when the minor girl filed a complaint against Bandi Sanjay’s son,” he said.
Srinivas Yadav also questioned the Prime Minister’s visit to Hyderabad, arguing that development programmes could have been inaugurated remotely from Delhi, as was done in Hyderabad. He said the expenditure on the Prime Minister’s visit and public meeting at Parade Grounds contradicted Modi’s calls for frugality.
BRS leader Kishore Goud alleged that Modi’s Telangana visit was politically motivated and that the Prime Minister visited only the residences of Andhra Pradesh leaders N Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, while ignoring BJP leaders based in Telangana. He alleged that the Congress and BJP had colluded to push the State towards financial ruin.
