Hyderabad: While the first half of 2021 went in panic and heartache for most of us due to the second wave of Covid-19, the second half has been a bit more normal… until Omicron came into our lives at least. So, ever wondered what could have been the most searched phrase in a year that was most ‘unusual and difficult’ as put by Bill Gates?
According to search engine Google’s #YearInSearch, in a year that continued to test many, the world searched “how to heal” more than ever. Whether they’re taking care of mental health, honouring a loved one, or reuniting with family, people are finding ways to come back stronger than before.
Some of the other popular searches were ‘will there be another lockdown’, ‘how to take care of your mental health’, ‘how to stay strong’, ‘when can I get my vaccine’, ‘how to help our planet’ and ‘when can I visit my family’.
In 2021, doomscrolling was searched more than ever globally. In March, the Meghan and Harry interview became the most searched interview in Google Trends history globally. The world also searched for things like body positivity, pride events, where to travel, and how to help Afghanistan.
