Hyderabad: Telangana Ministers slammed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for levelling what they termed as ‘baseless’ allegations against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
At a press conference held at the TRS Legislative Party office in Hyderabad, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav dared Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other BJP leaders for an open debate on the development in Telangana and any BJP-ruled States in the last seven years. He said several BJP senior leaders including Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States were visiting Telangana like tourists and returning to their native places after parroting scripts given to them, without applying their minds before levelling allegations.
“Rather than being mere political tourists, the BJP leaders should name one specific project sanctioned by the Centre to the State. They should immediately take up recruitment to over 15 lakh government jobs and clarify the electoral promise to provide 2 crore jobs per year. Otherwise, they should stop their electoral politics in the State. Gone are the days when we remained silent to their mudslinging. Now, we will not think twice to give them much stronger counter,” he declared.
Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar rubbished Chauhan’s remarks that Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao was now scared of BJP following the latter’s recent wins in Dubbak and Huzurabad byelections. He suspected that it could a reverse case as it was the BJP leaders who were herding the Chief Ministers of all the BJP-ruled States to Hyderabad, to attack their Telangana counterpart as they were scared of him. “Shivraj Singh Chouhan had failed utterly in governance which is evident from development and welfare in Madhya Pradesh,” he said.
Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud advised the Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled States to first fill the vacancies in their respective governments and provide salaries to their employees on par with Telangana, before pointing fingers at the TRS government on employees issues. He stated that Chouhan cannot develop Madhya Pradesh on par with Telangana, even if he becomes its Chief Minister for another 10 terms.
Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said there was no question of TRS or Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao fearing the empty threats of the BJP leaders who were only interested in power and money. He said the BJP leaders have more committed to elections than electoral promises, especially those involving people’s welfare.
