Hyderabad: As internal differences among MLAs and Ministers, loyalists and turncoat MLAs continue to simmer, the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting, which is under progress at MCRHRD, reflects the gravity of the situation.
More so, the party high command summoning Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud throws light on the state of party affairs.
Of late, gap between the leaders, elected representatives, party leadership and the government are widening.
The secret meeting of 10 MLAs, Congress MLC Teenmaar Mallanna burning the caste survey report, TPCC constituting a two-member committee on the Patancheru constituency political problems and Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender expressing dissent against party diktat over placing photos of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at his home, are just a few examples of simmering dissent within the party.
The Chief Minister and other senior leaders are participating in the CLP meeting to discuss all these issues.
Though, the party leaders claim the CLP meeting was all about submitting a report in caste survey and SC categorization to the party high command, it is evident that the party leadership is more worried about the above mentioned issues. Soon after the meeting, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and others are flying to New Delhi yet again late in the evening.
Turncoat MLAs skip the meeting
Amidst the Supreme Court observations and the Assembly secretary serving notices to the 10 turncoat MLAs, a majority of them have skipped the meeting, fuelling more speculations about their future plans.
Though a few MLAs arrived near MCRHRD, they did not step into the venue. They are reportedly worried about the consequences of attending the meeting as already notices were served to them.
However, one of the MLAs, claimed that they were keen to attend the meeting and were awaiting the Chief Minister’s instructions.
Two public meetings proposed
Party sources said that the State leadership was planning to conduct two massive public meetings on the successful completion of the caste survey and fulfilling the promise on SC categorization.
This was proposed mainly to counter the opposition parties’ claims that the caste survey was marred with errors. Further, there are many objections over SC categorization from different sections.
It may be recalled that BRS supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao had announced that the party would organize a public meeting this month.
