Kodangal: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday stated that all permissions had been secured and land acquisition completed for the Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme, and directed officials to complete the works within one-and-a-half years.
“The lands of Kodangal must be irrigated with waters from the Krishna River. There are no hurdles anymore. I will sanction the required funds,” the Chief Minister said while addressing a public meeting here after laying foundation stones for Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and other development works.
He said all permissions had also been granted for establishing a cement factory in the Tekalkode region and that construction of the unit would begin within six months. He further stated that an industrial park spread over 2,300 acres was being developed at Lagacherla.
The Chief Minister added that a 300-foot-wide major roadway directly connecting the airport to Kodangal was under development and that 90 per cent of the Vikarabad railway line works had already been completed.
He also announced that a medical college, engineering college, degree college, polytechnic college and ITI would be established on 220 acres at Lagacherla to develop the area into an educational hub. Revanth Reddy directed officials to complete all development works in Kodangal by December 2027.
Appealing to local body representatives to work together beyond political differences, he said the “Gudi” (Temple) and the “Gadi” (Seat of Power) had united for Kodangal’s development.
“Let us keep aside politics and transform Kodangal. Others should become jealous of the development here,” he said.
