Congress MLAs raise dissent over their own government’s functioning
Several Congress MLAs have openly criticised the Telangana government over project delays, funding gaps, and alleged irregularities. Leaders from Choppadandi, Mahabubnagar, Yellareddy, Munugode, and Jogulamba Gadwal demanded fair allocation of funds, protection of farmer lands, and transparency in development projects.

Hyderabad: After farmers, contractors, employees and other sections, Congress legislators themselves are now voicing dissent against the State government on a range of issues.
From lack of funds for constituency development and delays in project works to allegations of irregularities, several Congress MLAs have openly criticised their own government.
On Saturday, Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam objected to reservations in local bodies extended to various communities in his constituency. In a letter to Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, he appealed for a re-conduct of the reservation process in Karimnagar and Jagtial districts.
“I request a re-conduct of the reservation process in Karimnagar and Jagtial districts to ensure fairness, as there are allegations that justice has not been done to the Backward Classes and SC/ST communities in local bodies,” Satyam wrote.
Last week, Mahabubnagar MLA Yennem Srinivas Reddy criticised the government for neglecting grassroots issues. Writing in a vernacular daily, he alleged that not even 10 per cent of what was being spent on welfare programmes and mega projects was earmarked for local needs.
If the government failed to allocate sufficient funds for local issues, the very purpose of democracy would be defeated, he warned.
Similarly, Yellareddy MLA K Madan Mohan wrote to the World Bank last Friday, appealing for USD 11.5 million towards disaster relief and infrastructure rehabilitation following heavy rains. His letter was widely circulated on social media.
Over the past few months, Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy has repeatedly expressed concern over the government’s functioning. Earlier this month, he alleged that the Congress was altering the Regional Ring Road (Southern Part) alignment to protect lands owned by private companies in Choutuppal, a move that he said would hurt farmers.
He added that while the government had already announced the RRR Southern Part alignment in principle, it was making changes under pressure from corporate lobbies. On Saturday, farmers from Choutuppal, Narayanpur, Ghattuppal, Marrigudem and other mandals met him at his office, where he assured them their lands would be protected and promised to take up the issue with the government.
Adding to the chorus, BRS turncoat MLA from Jogulamba Gadwal, B Krishnamohan Reddy, accused the government of neglecting projects in Southern Telangana. Despite Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy hailing from the erstwhile Palamuru region, he said many projects were stalled and there was no response to repeated representations.
“Step-motherly treatment is being extended to South Telangana and development has stalled. This is unfortunate. Ministers are arriving in helicopters and conducting review meetings, but there is no progress,” Krishnamohan Reddy charged.
