Hyderabad: In response to a news item titled ‘Erratic power supply worsens TG farmers’ woes’ that appeared in these columns on Thursday, TGSPDCL A Venkateswarlu, Superintending Engineer (Operation), Nalgonda, clarified that the paddy fields in Pittampally village dried up due to the lack of groundwater and not due to power supply issues.
The power supply to Pittampally village is extended from the 11 KV feeder of the 33/11 KV Pamana Gundla substation. “According to our records, the supply load and 11 KV feeder load is 120 amps, and the voltage levels are healthy,” he said.
The distribution transformer, which has a capacity of 25 KVA, is the source of power to three borewells. ADE (Operation) and AE (Operation) visited the paddy field on Thursday and found that quality power supply was made available under the transformer.
Quoting farmer Sappidi Shankaraiah, he emphasised that the paddy fields dried up due to a lack of groundwater and not because of power supply issues.
“We maintain 24-hour power supply to the village, and during peak load hours, we extend single-phase supply to ensure continuous availability,” he noted.
