passbook to a beneficiary in Mancherial on Monday.
Mancherial: Officials of the Revenue department who drew criticism for extracting bribes from the public to register or correct names on revenue records, are now going the extra mile to win the trust of the citizens. In such an instance, Hajipur MRO Zameer Mohammad is creating awareness among the public on services offered under Dharani portal.
Zameer has been speaking to sarpanches and village elders to carry out their transactions on dates convenient to the applicants. He is requesting the public to utilize the services of the first of its-kind portal to register their properties and to make transactions relating to succession and partition of assets. He is setting an example to his counterpart in publicising the services.
“The services are processed at the earliest with the arrival of the portal. It is the responsibility of officials of the Revenue department to spread a word about the portal as the government reposed faith in us in carrying out the registrations,” Zameer told Telangana Today. He added that five transactions including three sale deeds were executed on the first day of the introduction of services.
The MRO further said that he would convene a meeting with operators of Mee Seva centres soon and instruct them to help the applicants in availing services of Dharani portal. He opined that the portal was easy to use and remarkably lessen the challenges in registering the properties like never before. He added that it would be welcomed by the public, considering its merits.
According to information available with the revenue authorities, Hajipur mandal consists of 29 villages.
