Former minister T Harish Rao speaking at a meeting at Lachagudem in Chintakani mandal in Khammam district.
Khammam: Former minister T Harish Rao warned police against foisting false cases on the BRS cadres and leaders. Police should work legally within the purview of the law. The BRS would come to power in next elections and enquiry would be ordered against the police officers who harassed the party cadres, he cautioned.
The former minister on Friday called on the family members of a farmer B Prabhakar, who died by suicide and later called on the party leader Pentyala Pullaiah, who was falsely booked by police, for demanding justice to the family of a farmer- who died due to electrocution in Chintakani mandal.
Addressing a gathering at Lachagudem in the mandal Harish Rao demanded Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress leaders to tender an apology to Telangana people for failing to deliver six guarantees even after 350 days were over, though the party promised to deliver the promises within 100 days.
He said that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka signed band papers promising to deliver six guarantees such as tula gold to newlywed women, Rs 2500 pension to women, Rs 5 lakh Vidyarthi Bharosa card and others, but failed to deliver them.
Farmers were wishing BRS to come back to power. The change which the Congress party boasted of turned out to be stopping the schemes implemented by the BRS regime. Rythu Bandhu, KCR Kits, Dalit Bandhu and others were stopped by the Congress government.
He wanted the second installment of Dalit Bandhu sanctioned to the beneficiaries in Chintakani mandal released forthwith and the issue would be raised in the ensuing Assembly elections, he informed.
BRS district president, MLC Tatha Madhusudhan complained that Congress leaders were targetting BRS leaders. The party city president P Nagaraju was sent to jail, seven cases were booked against the party Tirumalayapalem mandal president B Veeranna, DCCB director Inturi Shekhar was arrested during mid-night and BRS party Chintakani mandal president Pentyala Pullaiah, who was in political life for 35 years was booked under attempt to murder case falsely.
No matter how many cases were booked, the BRS leaders would not fear Congress atrocities and the party leadership would stand by the cadres. When the BRS was in power the MLAs used to visit the villages regularly. But in Congress rule, its MLAs were shying away from visiting villages fearing backlash from the public, he said.
