Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), which recently faced a technical glitch, has now started using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyse and redress the complaints and improve water supply.
The HMWSSB could be the first water board in the country to adopt AI technology.
Over the past year, officials from the IT department have analysed complaints registered with Metro Customer Care (MCC) using AI technology. Complaints along with tanker booking details, have been tested to identify the most frequent issues, areas with the highest number of complaints, and recurring concerns from various perspectives, according to an official release.
Apart from this, the analysis of tanker bookings over the past year has determined which divisions have the highest bookings, as well as the areas and consumers who booked the most tankers using AI.
From September 1, 2024 to till now, the water board’s customer care has received over 6.50 lakh complaints on various issues, and consumers have booked over 1.2 million water tankers.
The AI technology identified areas that recorded the highest tanker bookings last summer enabling the water board to focus on them. The analysis also identified that the top 10 consumers who booked the most tankers were in Pragathi Nagar.
