Hyderabad: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s logistics division has selected a Hyderabad-based startup to develop a tracking system for liquid medical oxygen (LMO) movement in the country. The web and app-based tracking system called Oxygen Digital Tracking System (ODTS) is powered by six-year-old city startup Cargo Exchange India.
This system will provide SIM-based tracking of LMO tankers from dispatch at plant till receipt in the State or district. It will also provide effective and instantaneous communication of allocation orders and dispatches. The major features of ODTS include integration with GSTN (Goods and Services Tax Network) database for e-waybill based data entry, 15-minute SIM tracking of driver’s mobile, GPS integration with vendors of suppliers, FASTag Integration, and automated alerts from the system for route deviation, unintended stoppages, and delays.
“We have developed this system under the guidance of MeiTY joint secretary Saurabh Gaur with the support from PESO, which is an organisation under DPIIT and also under the guidance of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. About four to five companies were evaluated and we were chosen to develop the application and within two days, we were able to provide the system and in another five to six days, the application went live,” said Srihari Icharapu, CEO, Cargo Exchange who runs the company along with others Ramana Gottipati (CTO) and Dileep Sreesadanam (CSO), Jagdeesan Vijayakumar (COO) and Bijo Varghese (VP) .
The system has three modules – the first one is admin and allocation module wherein allocation orders are communicated to the plants, the second is plant/supplier module wherein trip entry for every dispatch is noted and integration of GSTN is done and finally, the State module wherein States are provided with live tracking of the LMO trucks.
Cargo Exchange is now looking at upgrading the application to include tracking of LMO supply and movement through railway and air transport integration shortly, said Sreesadanam.
