Hyderabad: Joyous celebrations erupted in the city on Wednesday morning soon after Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced a staggering 80,039 vacancies for direct recruitment.
Following a hint thrown by the Chief Minister on Tuesday suggesting there would be some news for the youth today morning, many were waiting with anticipation. Amid speculations, checking possibilities and with great hope, youngsters waited with bated breath for the 10 am announcement.
Glued to televison sets, youngsters broke into loud cheers as the Chief Minister made the announcement on one of the biggest recruitment announcements in the history of the Telugu States. Amid slogans of ‘Desh Ki Netha KCR’ and ‘Jai Telangana’, they thanked the Chief Minister for the announcement.
Celebrations began on campuses too with students congratulating each other as they were waiting for long for notifications on government jobs.
At Arts College on the Osmania University campus, students poured milk on the Chief Minister’s photo, burst firecrackers and exchanged sweets. The students also expressed their happiness over relaxation of the upper age limit by 10 years which enabled several unemployed to be eligible for the recruitment process.
TRSV State vice-president Kiran Goud said the TRS government had carved a place of its own in history for fulfilling all the promises it made to the people of the State during the separate Statehood agitation. The huge number of vacancies would fulfill the aspirations of students and unemployed who have been waiting to secure government jobs, he said.
“This announcement of recruitment has infused a new hope and energy among students and unemployed youth,” he said.
Similar celebrations erupted on the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad campus. Students belonging to JNTU-Hyderabad TRS, JAC, Banjara Vidyarathi Sangham, SC Sangam and Minority students association thanked the Chief Minister for announcing the recruitment.
