Hyderabad: TSSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director G Raghuma Reddy here on Saturday instructed the engineers and officials concerned to ensure uninterrupted power supply during this summer in greater Hyderabad and TSSPDCL jurisdiction. During the present summer season, the estimated power peak energy demand may likely go up to 80 MU in greater Hyderabad and 185 MU in entire TSSPDCL, he said.
He said necessary arrangements were made to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all sectors of consumers. In case of any power supply or voltage problems, consumers may lodge their complaints through 1912/100, TSSPDCL website, Mobile app, Twitter and Facebook for restoration of supply.
In a video conference held with TSSPDCL Director (Operations) J Srinivasa Reddy, Chief General Managers and Superintending Engineers, Raghuma Reddy reviewed the detailed action plan submitted by the zonal and circle heads.
He said that 56 power transformers, 1725 distribution transformers and 11 33/11 KV sub-stations have been added to the distribution system of Greater Hyderabad to meet the additional power demands during the summer season. He also stated that other maintenance works like power evacuation of 75 33KV feeders, interlinking of 24 33KV feeders, refurbishment of breakers, clearing of tree branches which are obstructing the power lines, maintenance of 33/11kv sub-stations, load balancing of Power Transformers (PTRs) must be also completed.
Instructions were also issued to the field officers for continuous monitoring of load conditions of PTRs, 33KV feeders to maintain two per cent healthy rolling stock of distribution transformers, mobile Distribution Transformers (DTRs) and fire extinguishers to handle any electrical emergency.
Raghuma Reddy has instructed all the Superintending Engineers to Assistant Engineers to monitor the supply position from their respective 33/11 KV sub-stations during peak hours up to 9 pm daily till the completion of summer.
The power demand has increased significantly compared to 2014. Increase in agriculture and industrial consumption and rapid changes in lifestyles of the consumers were resulting in huge power demands, Raghuma Reddy said.
The maximum power supply was 49.56 Million Units (MU) on June 2, 2014 and it reached 73.84 MU on May, 29, 2019 in geater Hyderabad. In TSSPDCL also, the maximum power supply was 119.6 MU on April 3, 2014 and 180.5 MU on March 26, 2021.
