Summer vacation and summer camps are inseparable. Kairos International School organised a virtual summer camp considering the seriousness of the pandemic situation and the mental well-being of the children.
The school offered a well-structured opportunity for children to spend their summer holidays effectively. They offered three different summer programmes for the children to choose from. It included performance art, miniature painting and storytelling with puppetry.
The performance art sessions laid the foundation for drama, acting, dance, and music related to drama/theatre for students aged nine years to 14 years. Children performed the great Shakespearean tragedy Macbeth on stage. The live staging of Macbeth by children was the greatest attraction of the summer camp. Also, the short mime sessions organised by the school as a part of the performance art provided children a great platform to learn the history of mime and to express themselves through music and dramatic form of art.
Storytelling sessions introduced children to different storytelling methods. Children actively participated in these sessions which included role-plays, puppet shows, and story presentations.
During miniature painting sessions the children have trained the basics of Gond art, Madhubani art, Indian folk painting, Rajasthani art and Warli art.
