Hyderabad: Continuing with his efforts to instil confidence among Covid-19 patients as also to take stock of the situation in various government hospitals, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday visited MGM Hospital in Warangal. He inspected the facilities available at the hospital and assured the patients of best treatment for their speedy recovery.
Chandrashekhar Rao reached Warangal at around 12.45 pm by a helicopter and directly went to the MGM Hospital where he inspected the sanitary conditions and other facilities. He also interacted with the patients undergoing treatment in the Covid-19 wards, general ward, ICU, emergency and other wards. He enquired about their health condition as well as the food and treatment being provided to them. He also gave instructions to Health Department officials to create all facilities required for treatment of the patients and not to hesitate about expenditure.
The Chief Minister also inspected the oxygen plant installed at the MGM Hospital. He asked the officials to constantly monitor the oxygen and medicine supplies at the hospital to avoid any shortage. He also interacted with the doctors, nurses and other medical staff, and enquired about the difficulties they were facing while treating the patients. He also appreciated their services during the Covid crisis risking their lives.
After lunch break, Chandrashekhar Rao visited Warangal Central Prison where he interacted with the inmates while inspecting the barracks. He enquired with the prisoners about their details including their native place, their crime and condition of their families. He listened patiently to their woes and asked them about the facilities at the Central Prison. He also went through the handloom, steel and other products made by the inmates.
Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Satyavathi Rathod, MPs Banda Prakash and Pasunuri Dayakar, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, MLCs Kadiam Srihari, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, MLAs Nannapuneni Narender, Aururi Ramesh, Dr T Rajaiah, Satish, Health Secretary SAM Rizvi, CM OSD Gangadhar, Director of Health Srinivasa Rao, Director of Medical Education Ramesh Reddy, Warangal Mayor Gundu Sudharani, Warangal Urban ZP chairperson Sudhir and Warangal Rural chairperson Gandra Jyoti and several leaders from the district were present. Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University Vice-Chancellor Karunakar Reddy, TSMSIDC MD Chandra Shekhar Reddy and other officials were also present.
Elderly Covid patient hails KCR
Warangal Urban: Impressed by the treatment being provided to Covid patients at the State-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital (MGMH), a sexagenarian Covid patient from Mattewada in Warangal raised slogans in support of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao when he visited the hospital here on Friday.
Venkatachary has been undergoing treatment at MGMH for the last 12 days. When Chandrashekhar Rao visited the hospital and enquired about his health condition, Venkatachary said he was getting good treatment at the hospital. The doctors said that Chary was kept under observation without being discharged due to a low pulse rate.
Speaking to Venkatachary, the Chief Minister said: “Don’t get discouraged. Be brave and you will recover soon.” Following this, Venkatachary, who was lying on the bed, raised his hands and said: “KCR zindabad. KCR is my life saviour.”
‘Need oxygen supply in pvt hospitals’
Warangal Urban: Telangana Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (TANHA) has urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to ensure adequate supply of oxygen and Remdesivir injections to private hospitals.
On behalf of TANHA, Government Chief Whip and Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar handed over a memorandum to the Chief Minister at a review meeting on Covid situation here on Friday. Members of the Indian Medical Association and Telangana Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association said they were facing severe shortage of oxygen and Remdesivir vials as there was a sudden spike in cases in the second wave.
